RAVEN’S Story

In the 7th grade I decided to try out for the middle school volleyball team. After surprisingly making it, I decided that I liked volleyball a lot better than running track. Eventually I left the track team and have stuck with volleyball ever since.
I am inspired by God, and my family. The possibilities that could be in my future inspire me to always try my best, and do as much as I can to be successful.
I love volleyball because of the growing community that surrounds it. There are so many young girls that look up to every single collegiate volleyball player. I take so much joy in making them happy and inspiring them by doing something that I love so much. The second family and connections you make in volleyball is another reason why I love to play. When you play for so many years, you get put on so many teams for a short or long period of time, but no matter how long it may be you always make the closest connections. The majority of my best friends were formed through this sport.
I chose Purdue because, most importantly, the degree will give me plentiful opportunities after after my volleyball career is over. Secondly it was the best option for volleyball in terms of distance away from home. My family being able to come to every home game was really important to me along with being able to see them often. Lastly, the diversity I saw on the team when I first started getting into volleyball allowed me to feel comfortable committing to Purdue.

WHY ULTRA ANKLE?

There have been many times that I have rolled my ankle or tweaked it in many ways. Ultra Ankle has never failed me. It gives me wonderful support so that even though I may roll my ankle, the recovery is a lot quicker than without. The ankle brace is also easy to put on and only requires two steps to tighten the two straps.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT PLAYING FOR PURDUE?

The best part of playing Purdue University is the recognition, support, and environment we get from playing in Holloway Gymnasium. From the Boiler Block Party to the supporters everywhere else. The feeling of bringing all those people joy makes me extremely happy.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUNG PLAYERS IN YOUR SPORT?

The advice I would give young players in volleyball is to make the recruiting process as you want it. Make that decision for yourself and not for anyone else.
