ANNA’S Story
My name is Anna Herman, I am on the women’s volleyball team at UCONN. I am a freshman middle blocker from Vincennes, Indiana. I started to play volleyball when I was 5 and since I can remember I’ve been in love with the game. Before I came to UCONN I played volleyball at Rivet High School. I was a four-time letter-winner and Sun Commercial Player of the Year. I was named Class A All-State, Class A All-District and set school records for blocks and kills in a match. I was also class valedictorian, a 4 year National Honors Society member, and Academic All-State. I chose UCONN because it is a place where excellence is the standard and that is something that I wanted to be a part of.
WHY ULTRA ANKLE?
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT PLAYING FOR UCONN?
The amazing environment on and off the court for student athletes, and the constant drive for a championship culture.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOUNG PLAYERS IN YOUR SPORT?
I would advise younger players to get as many touches as possible. Jump everyday and spend time getting comfortable on the court! Every rep matters!
